They had two children according to the 1930 US Census - Marjorie (b. abt 1925, NY) and Robert (b. abt 1928, NY); Fenwick^8 Willard Bergen, b. 4 May 1897 and d. 22 October 1897 (in infancy), Flatlands, NY. Census data indicates he may not have died young. He married Hazel ____ (b. abt 1897, NY) abt 1911. SSDI lists his death date as Jun 1968, Ridgewood, Bergen, NJ; Mary^8 Gertrude Bergen was b. 27 July 1901, New Lots, NY and bur. 25 April 1902 Flatlands, NY (died in infancy) (There is a curious discrepancy here. Previous information recorded here since June 2000 had it that Willard and Mary died in infancy, yet they appear in the 1910 US Census as children ages 12 and 8. If the information provided by Michael Wolfe or someone else was taken from gravestones, perhaps John and Gertrude had six children, two of whom were named after children who died in infancy?)
